Why does nobody talk about how arbitration clauses are actually bad for small businesses?
I used to think arbitration was a smart way to avoid big court costs. Then last summer a supplier delivered faulty parts that cost me $12,000 in lost orders. The arbitration clause said I had to pay half the arbitrator's fee upfront, which was $4,000, and I still lost because the arbitrator had no legal training. That moment when I got the ruling I realized contracts with hidden fees are the real trap. Has anyone else gotten burned by a forced arbitration clause in a vendor agreement?

jumping in to say that exact same upfront fee thing happened to me with a packaging vendor. They wanted $3,500 before the arbitrator even looked at the case, and I was already bleeding money from the defective boxes ruining my holiday shipments. I told my lawyer friend about it and he just shook his head and said those clauses are basically designed to make you give up before you start. The worst part is the arbitrator didn't even understand my industry's standards so the whole thing felt like a waste. You have my full sympathy, that supplier situation sounds absolutely brutal.

Right, because paying a random person $4,000 for a bad ruling is totally cheaper than court.
