Client said 'trim it like your own hair' and I froze

Had a walk-in yesterday who was super chill, sat down and said she wanted something low maintenance but cute. I asked what she meant and she just shrugged and said 'you know, like what you'd do with your own hair.' That hit different because I realized I always play it safe with clients but go bolder on myself. I ended up giving her a shag with face-framing layers and she loved it. Anyone else ever get a vague request that actually pushes you out of your comfort zone?
