Client walked out mid-cut because I didn't use her "preferred" shears

I was at my station in a busy salon in Austin last Thursday, doing a layered cut on a regular who usually loves my work. She noticed I was using my own Katanas instead of her random drugstore shears, and she stood up, said "this isn't gonna work," and left with wet hair. Has anyone else had clients get weirdly attached to specific tools that aren't even professional grade?

What kind of stuff was it? I'm trying to picture what gets that weirdly personal. Some people latch onto the weirdest inanimate objects like they're family.
