I'm seeing a lot of stylists in my area use way too much heat on fine hair
A client came to me after her ends got fried at another salon, and she said they used a flat iron on the highest setting for three passes. That much heat on fine strands just melts the cuticle. What's your go-to temperature for fine hair to avoid damage?

Honestly, used to crank the heat way up thinking it got the job done faster. Seeing a client's fine hair snap off like thread after a too-hot blowout was a real wake-up call. My go-to now is 300 to 320 degrees max for a flat iron, and only one pass if the hair is really fine. It takes a bit more patience, but the hair stays shiny and strong.

My old flat iron didn't even have a temperature setting, just a dial that went from "warm" to "surface of the sun." I probably fried my own hair for years before I learned better. Your 300 degree rule is solid, I had to train myself to slow down and not just go for the fastest result. What heat protectant do you find works best for fine hair without weighing it down?
