Just changed my mind about using a heat protectant spray
For a long time I thought it was just an extra step that didn't do much. Then last Thursday, I had a client come in for a color correction and a full blowout. Her hair was pretty damaged from box dye. I used a protectant spray before I started flat ironing sections. The difference in shine and how smooth the hair felt after was huge. She even pointed it out, saying her hair hadn't felt that good in a year. I'm now adding it to every single thermal styling service. What's your go-to heat protectant brand?

Honestly still think it's mostly just marketing. I mean, I've used it and not used it and never really saw a big change. Maybe it's just my hair type though.

Oh wow, that's a huge difference for your client. I get what @the_jennifer is saying about it feeling like a marketing thing sometimes (I've had that thought myself). But I had a similar moment last year when I skipped it on my own frizzy hair before curling it. The ends felt so dry and rough after, way worse than usual. Now I'm paranoid and just spray it every time, even if I'm just quickly running the flat iron through my bangs. It just seems to keep that fried feeling away.
