Pro tip: split testing trim lengths on a mannequin changed my approach

I used to insist every layered cut had to be 1.5 inches off the bottom, then last month I tested a 2 inch variation on a mannequin and the movement looked way better in photos. Now I trust the visual result over my old habit, anyone else do quick mock cuts before touching a real client?
