Serious question, I just flipped on using razors for texturizing.

I used to think razors made hair look choppy and unprofessional. Then I saw a stylist use one with featherlight strokes on thick, straight hair, and the movement was insane. Now I keep a razor in my kit for specific clients who need that soft, lived-in feel. Total game changer for adding texture without bulk.

Oh man, this reminds me of my grandpa's barber. That guy would spend ten minutes just on the hot towel, swearing it made the haircut better. Simonw41, you're right that some of it is just old habit, but man, that hot towel felt amazing.
