Settled on a razor comb over thinning shears for my fine-haired clients

I kept going back and forth on whether to use thinning shears or a razor comb for clients with really fine hair. Last week I had a regular come in with super thin strands and I finally tried the razor comb on her. The texture came out way softer and more natural looking, no weird choppy spots. Has anyone else had better luck with one tool over the other for fine hair?

My last three fine-haired clients all got the razor comb treatment and two of them came back saying their hair felt way less brittle after a week. Number three though she said it looked flat by day two. Did you notice any difference in how long the style held up after you used the razor comb versus thinning shears on that regular? I'm wondering if the lack of texture from the razor makes it fall faster for some people.

Oh boy, tell me about it-my own fine hair goes from "beachy waves" to "sad helmet" by noon, so I'm hardly one to judge! I definitely think the razor can snatch that natural grip right out of the hair for some folks.
