Switched from thickener to foam for my developer this week

Tried foam developer for the first time Tuesday after using thickener for years. Way less drip and my foil packets actually stayed sealed. Anyone else make the swap?

Is foam really that big of a deal though? I've been using thickener for years and my foils stay put just fine if you fold the ends right. Feels like another product hype move to me.

Fold the ends right" - yeah I had that same attitude until my buddy Dave tried it. He was at a competition last month and had three foils blow open halfway through the processing because his thickener just gave up... ended up with patchy color and had to redo the whole back section. He switched to foam the next day and said it was night and day for his workflow.
