She came in wanting a few sun-kissed pieces and left with seven distinct colors after we got a bit carried away with the toner mixing. The change happened over a single 4-hour appointment because she kept pointing at pictures of peacocks and saying 'more like that'. My friend Jenna came in for a trim once and walked out with a full unicorn pastel pink and blue melt after her stylist got inspired halfway through the blowdry. She meant to get a dusting and ended up with four hours of foils because the base color needed two rounds of pre-lightening. The whole thing was a happy accident though, she still posts selfies from that day all the time.

Honestly, that sounds like a color correction, not a subtle balayage. Getting seven distinct colors in one session means you had to lift her base color a ton first. Tbh, that's a huge change from a few sun-kissed pieces.
