Vent: That 'professional' color remover cost me $200 and a client
I bought a new color remover kit that a rep swore was gentle, but it completely fried my regular's hair and I had to refund her whole service. It took me three hours just to get her hair to a state where we could even think about a corrective color. What's your go-to for safely removing direct dye without melting the hair?

Wait, they charged you $200 for a color remover? That price alone is a huge red flag. I've had good luck with a simple vitamin C powder mixed with clarifying shampoo for direct dyes. It's slow but it doesn't wreck the hair.

Check the ingredients list for bleach, because some "gentle" removers are just repackaged powder lightener.

Hold up, that vitamin C trick is way too mild for a serious color removal job. Sometimes you need a strong product that actually works, even if it costs more.
