Wasted $80 on a cheap hair dryer - learned my lesson hard

Picked up a bargain brand hair dryer for my shop last month thinking it would save me cash, but the motor died after just 8 blow-dries. It ended up costing me more in refunds from clients whose hair got stuck in the weak airflow. Has anyone else had a similar experience with discount styling tools not lasting?

Costing me more in refunds" ouch, I just ponied up for a pro model and never looked back.

Three years ago I bought the pro version of this tool and I still get angry every time it tries to upsell me on the "premium" tier that does exactly what the pro model should have done from the start. Your mileage may vary, but for me the pro model just locked me into paying more for basic features that used to be free. I know a few other people who jumped on the pro bandwagon and they all say the same thing - it feels like you're paying for the privilege of being a beta tester. The refund costs might sting now, but at least you're not stuck with something that keeps asking for more money every update. Just my two cents, but I'd rather deal with a one time headache than a subscription that never ends.
