Wasted $90 on a fancy hair steamer that just collects dust now

I bought one of those professional hair steamers last year thinking it would save me time on deep conditioning treatments. Used it maybe three times before realizing it takes forever to heat up and my regular hooded dryer does the same job in less time. It just sits in the corner of my station now taking up space. Anyone else have a tool they bought thinking it would be a game changer but ended up being a total dud?

I actually bought a $20 one off Amazon a few years ago and it's still working fine... so the price point really depends on what you're getting. @patricia905, the expensive ones usually have adjustable heat settings and a bigger water tank, but if you're just doing a quick steam before deep conditioning, the cheaper ones work just as well. I think people get caught up in brand names and fancy features when the basic technology is pretty simple. My cheap one takes a minute longer to heat up but that's about the only difference I've noticed. Maybe try the budget version first and see if you even use it regularly before dropping $90.
