Went to a salon expo in Chicago and changed my whole view on air-drying

I used to think air-drying was just for lazy days or when you're in a rush, but a stylist at the expo proved me wrong with a demo using a lightweight mousse and scrunching technique. Her client's waves came out so defined and frizz-free without any heat, I had to try it myself. Has anyone else found a product or trick that made you drop your diffuser for good?

Right, but here's something nobody's mentioning yet - air-drying can actually change your curl pattern over time. I started air-drying full time last year and my waves went from a loose 2A to a solid 2B/2C. The heat from diffusing was literally stretching out my curls. Also, a trick I picked up from a trichologist: microplop with a t-shirt before applying any products. That extra moisture removal makes the mousse or gel actually hold instead of just sitting on wet hair. It's not just about the product, it's about the technique and how your hair adapts.

Wait is that really a thing though? I switched to air drying and my hair just got frizzier and more limp, not curlier. Feels like half the battle is keeping moisture in, not taking it all out before product goes on.

Got a diffuser for Christmas and used it twice. Now it lives in the back of my bathroom cabinet judging me every time I air dry my hair into a sad, frizzy shape.
