A simple rigging puzzle that ate up half my morning

Had to move a big piece of machinery into a tight spot at a plant in Toledo last month. The lift itself was easy, but getting the slings off after setting it down was a nightmare. The load shifted just enough to pinch them, and I couldn't get any slack. What I thought would be a five minute job turned into a two hour mess of trying different angles with a pry bar and finally using a small air jack to lift a corner just a hair. Ever have a simple post-lift task blow up your whole schedule?

Sounds like the machinery decided to keep the slings as a souvenir.

Just give the machine a solid whack with a wrench, that usually frees them up.
