Heard a guy in the union hall in Newark say cranes are just big forklifts, nearly lost it

Tbh I was sitting there waiting for a dispatch call and this younger guy, maybe 25, starts telling his buddy that running a Liebherr is basically the same as a forklift with a longer reach. I just stared at my coffee for a solid minute. I got my cert in 2011 and it took me 4 years of rigging before I even touched the levers on a 300 ton. The load charts, the wind limits, the ground bearing pressure, none of that matters to a forklift guy. Has anyone else had to deal with people who think this trade is just big equipment and no actual skill? How do you even respond without sounding like a jerk?
