I bought a cheap wireless camera for load spotting and it cost me a whole morning

It was one of those off-brand ones from an online ad, about $80. The video kept cutting out every time the crane's motor kicked in, which made it useless for checking blind spots. I had to stop the lift, climb down, and walk over to see the load myself three separate times. Has anyone found a camera system that actually holds up to the radio noise on site?

WiFi cameras are just toys for the wrong job, try a hardwired analog system instead.

That radio interference is a real problem, but it's not just the crane motor. I mean, idk maybe it's just me but the whole site is full of that noise from other tools and radios. Cheap cameras use the same 2.4GHz frequency as everything else, so they get drowned out. You need one that uses the 5GHz band or has really good shielding. I wasted money on two different cheap ones before I learned that.

Hold on, I have to totally disagree with @nina180 here. I've been using a cheap 2.4GHz camera for months on my forklift and it's been fine. The key is placement. I ran the power cable away from the main battery lines and mounted the receiver up high in the cab. It might glitch for a second when I really gun it, but it comes right back. People are too quick to blame the gear instead of the setup. Sometimes you just need to take an extra ten minutes with the zip ties.
