Lost a load chain on an old Grove yesterday and it took me 4 hours to fix
Honestly, I was swinging a load near the rail yard in Memphis when the chain on my 20-ton Grove just snapped mid-lift. No warning, no nothing one second it was fine, next second the hook was dangling. I had to shut everything down, grab a spare chain from the shop, and swap it out in the rain. It reminded me of when I started 15 years ago we never had chains blow like that. Has anyone else had luck with aftermarket chains or do you stick with OEM?

Man, aftermarket chains are hit or miss in my experience. I stick with OEM after a cheap replacement let go on me last year. Saves you that rainy mess, you know?

Oh man, you're braver than me with aftermarket chains. I've heard too many stories of them stretching under load, so I'd rather pay extra for the peace of mind even if it stings the wallet.
