My foreman told me to always use the load chart for lifts under 5 tons

I thought I could eyeball it on a simple pallet job, but the chart showed I was actually at 6,200 pounds and needed to reposition. Anyone else almost get caught by a 'light' load?

Wait, you thought a pallet job was light and it was over three tons? That's wild! I've seen pallets of roofing shingles or concrete bags that look innocent but are crazy heavy. It's so easy to misjudge when stuff is bundled up like that. The chart doesn't lie, thank goodness you checked it!

My old trainer used to say a loaded pallet can hide a truck's weight. @troy_owens is right about bundles being deceiving. That load chart is the only thing that keeps you honest on those jobs.
