Pro tip: Hitting 500 hours on a tower crane didn't make me feel like an expert
Everyone talks about that number like it's a magic threshold, but I still had to ask my signalman to repeat himself twice last week in a stiff crosswind. Has anyone else found that the 'milestone' hours feel a bit arbitrary?

The real test is the first time you have to land a load blind because a building corner blocks your view. Hours logged don't prepare you for that stomach drop moment, only doing it does.
