Remembering a close call with a load shift back in '08

We were setting a 12-ton HVAC unit on a roof in Philly when a sling slipped, tilting the whole thing sideways. I had to swing it out over an empty lot and lower it real slow while the ground crew got new straps on, which took about 20 minutes of pure focus. Anyone ever have to do a controlled emergency setdown like that?

Ever had a rigger freeze up on you mid-crisis? Had a guy just lock up watching a load swing, had to yell at him to snap out of it and grab a tagline. That mental side can be the real wild card in those situations.

That's panic, @jamies45, not a freeze. Big difference.
