That $900 wireless load cell was a lemon, my old setup still wins

Last month I dropped nine hundred bucks on a wireless load cell to ditch the cables on my 50-ton rig. The app kept dropping connection every time I swung the boom, and it took three hours to get it to pair with my phone. Finally tossed it back in the box and went back to my wired shackle, which has never let me down. Anyone else get burned by new tech that just aint ready for real crane work?

My uncle still runs a 1982 Mack truck with a friction crane on it. That thing has zero computers and works every single day. Meanwhile my $900 paperweight took 45 minutes just to update its firmware before I could even try using it. I swear these companies test their stuff in a clean office with a strong wifi signal, not on a dusty jobsite with a phone that's got three cracks in the screen. Give me a cable and a simple shackle any day. At least when it breaks, I know exactly what to fix.
