That one crane op who taught me how to read a load chart properly
I was working a job in Newark back in 2015 and an old-timer named Frank walked over while I was setting up. He pointed at my load chart and said "you're looking at the wrong radius, that number is for 360 degrees not over the side." I had been reading those charts wrong for THREE years before that moment. Has anyone else had a simple tip from a senior guy completely change how you run your rig?

Holy crap, three years?! That's wild. I mean, I can totally see how that would happen though if nobody ever corrected you. It's one of those things where once someone points it out you feel like an idiot for missing it, but without that tip you'd just keep going wrong. Frank probably saved you from a real bad day without you even knowing it at the time.
