Used to fight the wind on every lift, now I just wait. A calm 20 minutes saved a whole day in Denver last week.

That's interesting, because waiting it out can sometimes just make the problem bigger. Last time I tried that in Denver, the calm window never came and the whole afternoon got scrapped. Now I check the forecast obsessively and just go for the first lift, wind or no wind.

Got a buddy who tried the wait it out game at Crystal last season. He sat in the lodge for three hours drinking overpriced coffee watching the wind flags go nuts, finally gave up around 1pm, and of course the lifts opened right as he was walking to the parking lot. Wind died down at the exact worst time for him lol. Now he's the guy refreshing wind forecasts on his phone every five minutes and dragging everyone onto the chair by 8:30am whether we like it or not.

Wait, but that's exactly how you lose a whole day. I mean, sitting there hoping for a calm window is just gambling with your time. You gotta just push through the wind sometimes and get it done.
