Can we talk about writing prompts that spoonfeed vs prompts that leave room to breathe?
I saw a prompt yesterday that was six paragraphs long with character names, plot points, and three ending options already mapped out... it felt like reading a synopsis instead of a starting point. Back in 2018 when I first joined this sub, most prompts were just a sentence or a vague scenario, and the comments were full of totally different stories branching off. Which style actually pushes your creativity more, the detailed roadmap or the open field?

Spent years defending detailed prompts until I realized I was just writing my own story, not inviting others in.

That really resonates with me @the_keith, I went through the exact same wake-up call lol.
