Had to choose between a dark elf rogue and a dwarf paladin for a one-shot last night

Picked the rogue for the stealth bonus in a dungeon crawl, but the party took so much damage from a trap-filled corridor that I ended up looting our own bodies by session end, anyone else ever regret a class pick for a single game?

Yeah, that trap-filled corridor line hit home... I had almost the exact same thing happen with a halfling bard once. A low tier rogue with no magic resistance is basically a glass cannon in a hallway full of pressure plates and dart holes. My advice? Next time, grab the dwarf paladin and just accept you're the party's moving shield. That heavy armor and a decent shield block will save your loot and your life, especially in a one-shot where every healing potion counts. But hey, at least you got to loot your own party... some tables don't even let you do that without a persuasion check.

@mark_hernandez12 said "glass cannon" and that's exactly right. I feel your pain though. A rogue with no magic resist in a trap filled hallway is pretty much a suicide run. I've learned the hard way that one-shots aren't the time to be cute with class picks. Just go with whatever keeps the party alive, even if it's boring.
