Had to choose between finishing a chapter or fixing a plot hole first
I picked fixing the plot hole and spent 3 hours rewriting 20 pages. Now the chapter doesn't even fit anymore. Anybody else ever dig themselves into a bigger hole trying to patch one little thing?

Opened a new document thinking I'd just rewrite a quick paragraph and ended up junking the entire first act. Now I'm stuck with a protagonist who doesn't match the original tone and a side character who suddenly has way too much backstory. It's like I took a wrong turn in a maze and now I'm in the janitor's closet with a mop I never asked for.
