Had to scrap a whole chapter because my character's timeline was off by 3 years
Started a historical fiction piece set in 1988 about a record store clerk, but after 40 pages realized I had her listening to an album that didn't drop until 1991. I spent 4 hours digging through old release dates on Wikipedia to fix it, then decided it was easier to just shift the whole story to 1992. That little miscalculation ate up an entire Saturday afternoon I'd planned for writing. Has anyone else had a tiny research fail snowball into a full rewrite?

Had to scrap a whole chapter" - that's rough. At least you found out before you got to page 200 and had to burn the whole thing.
