Hot take: writing prompts got way too specific around 2018

I was scrolling through old prompts from 2015 and they were all like 'a door appears in the woods' or 'you find a letter from yourself'. Now everything is 'you are a sentient vending machine on the moon during a corporate merger' with 15 rules. Its like we forgot simple ideas can still spark good stories, anybody else tired of the novel-length prompt setups?

Nah, sentient moon vending machine prompts were definitely around way before 2018.

Yeah, it's exhausting. Simple prompts hit harder anyway.
