Just realized my fantasy map needed a fake shipwreck to feel lived in
Last month in Denver I spent 4 hours drawing a cursed coastline for my novel and something felt dead about it. I added a single broken hull with a ratty flag near the south bay and suddenly the whole region had a story. Anyone else find that one tiny detail makes your whole setting click?

And now I guess that shipwreck is the most popular part of your map?

Oh yeah, "the most popular part of your map" - that shipwreck is basically its own tourist attraction now lol. People come from all over just to see that old wreck, it's wild. I swear half the folks who visit the area don't even care about the rest of the coast, they just want selfies with the rusted hull sticking out of the sand. The local shops even started selling little model ships and bumper stickers with the wreck on them. Makes you wonder how something that was probably a big tragedy back then turned into a cash cow for everyone. But hey, at least it brings in some money for the town, right?
