Shoutout to the guy who pointed out my plot hole on page 87
Was revising my fantasy novel last night and realized the magic system I spent 30 hours building completely breaks in chapter 6 because I forgot to account for how the crystals recharge. My beta reader caught it during his lunch break and sent me a 2 minute voice note explaining the fix. Anyone else had a small tweak like that save a whole story?

Buddy of mine had a whole subplot hinge on a character's scar being on the wrong side. His editor caught it, one sentence fix saved like sixty pages of confusion.

Write a checklist for yourself before you start the chapter. I do this now after learning the hard way. Like character A has the scar on the left, B calls them by their nickname, C drives a blue truck. Then when you mention the scar on the right or the truck is suddenly red, you catch it yourself before it even gets to the editor. Saves so much headache later. My buddy used to keep a running doc just for physical details and it worked way better than trying to remember everything in your head.
