Shoutout to the plot hole I spent 6 hours trying to fix

I was writing this fantasy short story and had this character who could see memories by touching objects. But then I realized she touched a sword from a battle she wasn't at and suddenly she knew everything about the fight. That made zero sense. Took me 6 hours of rewriting to figure out that the object had to have been owned by someone she knew. Has anyone else spent way too long fixing one dumb logic error in their writing?

Dude, I spent a whole weekend once because my time travel story had someone grab a cup of coffee and it somehow changed the entire color of the sky. I was like "wait, that makes NO sense" and had to go back and add a whole rule about how artifacts from the future don't affect time unless they're REALLY important. It was such a dumb little thing but it bugged me forever.

Ha, totally feel you @noah917! That's the kind of rabbit hole that makes you question your whole story.

My buddy once spent 12 hours fixing a story about a ghost who could open doors but then realized ghosts can't touch anything.
