The $12 thrift store typewriter that rewired my plot drafting

I grabbed an old Olivetti for $12 at a garage sale, thinking I'd just use it for decoration. Turns out the physical act of hammering out sentences makes me cut every useless word, so my drafts come out way tighter than typing on a laptop. Has anyone else tried switching up their writing tool when they hit a stuck point?

Used to think it was hipster nonsense, but now i kinda get why people swear by it.
