Vent: That woman at the coffee shop who read my flash fiction on her phone
I was at a local spot in Austin last Saturday, just roughing out a 200-word piece about a guy who can hear colors. A stranger in line asked what I was typing, so I handed her my phone. She read it right there, laughed at the punchline, and said "the blue sound part gave me chills." That little moment made my whole week feel worth it, even if no one else reads it. Anyone else ever get feedback from a random stranger that hit harder than a critique group?

actually blue sound would be more of a synesthesia thing than hearing colors.

Oh I really feel you on that, it's just such a simple but spot on way to put it. synesthesia stuff can be so hard to explain to people who don't get it, but you nailed it with that description. It's nice to see someone else who actually understands the difference without making it weird or overly complicated.
