My credit score jumped 48 points in 4 months after paying off a single $200 medical collection

I had this old medical bill for a quick care visit back in 2021 just sitting on my reports, and after I settled it for $120 and waited for the deletion to go through, my score went from 612 to 660 - has anyone else seen that kind of bump from removing just one small collection?

Buddy of mine had a similar thing happen with a $150 lab bill from years ago. He paid the full amount and they deleted it, his score jumped from like 590 to 640 in about three months. Felt like magic but I guess those old collections really drag you down more than you'd expect.
