My neighbor said a 750 score is 'good enough' and I'm not sure I agree
I was chatting with my neighbor, Dave, over the fence yesterday. He was telling me how he stopped caring about his credit score once it hit 750, saying 'it's all the same after that point for loans.' That really stuck with me because I've been grinding to get mine from 780 to 800 for a better rate on a refi. He thinks the extra effort for those last few points is a waste of time. Is a 750 truly the finish line, or is there a real benefit to pushing higher?

My refi last year got me a 0.25% better rate at 795 than the quote I had at 760, so those points can matter.

Always figured those points were overrated, but your story makes a solid case.
