Paid $90 for a credit monitoring app that actually dropped my score

I signed up for this fancy credit monitoring service last month that promised to boost my score by finding errors on my reports. They sent me 27 alerts in two days, I disputed a legit old utility bill by accident, and my score dropped 40 points. Has anyone else had a credit repair thing backfire like that?
