Serious question, why do people treat a 30 day late from 2019 like it's a life sentence?
I pulled my FICO 8 last Tuesday and that one late payment from a Sprint bill in 2019 is still sitting there, but it drops off in about 8 months and my score is already at 712. Everyone in my family acts like one slip means you're banned from buying a house forever, which is just wrong. The real killer is how much of your score is just how old your accounts are and how many you have open. What did your oldest account end up doing for you when it finally aged past 10 years?
Wait, you're telling me a Sprint bill from 2019 is still showing up on your report right now? That is wild, I thought stuff like that fell off way faster than people say. My oldest card just hit 11 years and my score barely moved, so the age thing feels a lot slower than folks make it out to be.
