Vent: My credit score dropped 30 points because of a medical bill I already paid

Found a $200 doctor visit from 8 months ago on my report last week. Called the billing office and they said it was already settled, but the credit bureaus still had it marked as unpaid. Spent 3 hours on hold with Equifax to get it fixed. Anyone else deal with paid bills still wrecking your score?

Equifax took three hours? Those are rookie numbers. TransUnion kept my paid-off $120 dental bill on my report for four months after I showed them the receipt. They said it was "processing." Yeah right. Make sure you dispute it online too, not just over the phone. Paper trail is everything with those people.

already settled but the credit bureaus still had it marked as unpaid" is the worst part. Happened to me with a $75 lab fee last year. Took me a month of calling to get it gone. The system is broken when you have to fight for something you already paid for.
