Bought a $12 bag of Gateron Milky Yellows as a joke, now they're in my daily driver
I grabbed these on a whim from a shop in Austin thinking there was no way cheap linears could feel good, since I'd only used stuff like lubed Alpacas before. After 3 hours of filming and a light coat of 205g0 they honestly sound deeper and smoother than switches I paid triple for. The bump in my wallet hurt less than the bump in my ego, that's for sure. Anyone else running budget linears in a board they actually care about, or am I the only one who got humbled by a $12 bag?
My first build had a $20 set of Akko CS switches and I swore they felt scratchy for a month before I lubed them. Turned out the scratch was my own bad filming job, not the switches, and they ended up smoother than the Zealios I bought after. Price tags mess with your head more than your fingers do.
