Bought a $60 brass plate for my first custom build and it sat in a drawer for 8 months

I went all in on a brass switch plate for a TKL build back in February because I heard it gives a deeper sound, but I never finished soldering the PCB and it just collected dust until last week. Finally got the board together and honestly the weight feels nice but I can't tell if the sound is actually different from my aluminum board. Does anyone else have a half-finished build sitting around that you spent good money on parts for?

Found a half-started Planck build from 2021 under my bed last month, still had the stabilizers taped to the box with a sad little note that said "for later". Realized I'm not even sure I still want a 40% board, so now I've got a $50 paperweight.

Your note would probably sell quick on r/mechmarket... someone's always looking for a cheap Planck.
