Can we talk about typing angles on custom boards?

Went to a keyboard meetup in Portland last weekend and saw maybe 20 boards all set flat with no feet. Everyone was raving about the clean look but my wrists started hurting just watching them type. Am I the only one who thinks a 6-7 degree angle is better for actual long typing sessions?

Lots of people use flat boards just fine though.

Read somewhere that even just a few degrees of tilt changes how your forearm muscles fire. Makes sense when you think about it, your hand rests at a slight angle naturally, not totally flat.

The Kinesis Advantage 360 has a built in negative tilt and people argue about it constantly in the ergonomic keyboard groups. I read somewhere that the human hand is actually most comfortable at a slight downward angle when resting, which is why tenting and negative tilt are making a comeback. But thats not what most customs are doing. They are going completely flat. There was this one guy at my local meetup who brought a board with a 10 degree typing angle and everyone was calling it a boat. I dont get it. Your wrists are literally bones and tendons moving thousands of times an hour. A couple degrees of lift can mean the difference between pain and comfort after a full day of work. The clean look is nice but not at the cost of your actual hands.
