Gateron vs Cherry switches for my first custom build

I spent like 2 weeks going back and forth on Gateron Yellows vs Cherry MX Reds for my custom board. Ended up going with the Gaterons because they were half the price at $15 for a 90 pack on AliExpress. Honestly they feel way smoother stock than the Cherries I tried at a meetup last month. Only thing is the housing is a bit looser so keycaps wobble more. Anyone else find Gaterons just feel better for linear builds even if the QC is hit or miss?

Have you tried swapping the springs in the Gaterons to something heavier? I did that with my Yellows and it made a huge difference for me, the wobble was still there but the feel was way more stable. The looser housing actually makes them easier to lube too since the top comes off without a fight.

Idk, heavier springs kinda kill the smoothness for me though.
