Had a moment last night while I was lubing my switches with a tiny brush

Been building for three years and it just clicked that the reason my linears felt scratchy was because I was using too much lube (I was globbing it on like toothpaste) but thanks to a random Reddit thread where someone said 'less is more' I tried a single tiny drop per stem and now my Gateron Inks sound like butter, has anyone else had that 'aha' moment where you realize you've been doing a basic step completely backwards?

I mean, I get that it's cool to have a "moment" but are we really acting like using too much lube is some huge life changing discovery? Like yeah, you put toothpaste amounts on your switches, no wonder they felt scratchy. It's lube 101 to go light. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people overthink this stuff way too much. Just put a tiny bit on and move on, it's not that deep.

Hold up, are you saying you've never seen someone drown their switches in lube and then complain they feel sluggish? Because I've seen it happen like a dozen times on build streams. So when you say "too much lube" isn't a big deal, are you really telling me you've never had to clean out a switch that was literally gushing oil from the sides? Cause that's a real problem, not just people overthinking things. It's like saying you can't overwater a plant because "just a little bit" is obvious, but then you watch someone flood the pot anyway.
