Hard choice between brass and aluminum plate for my first build

I was stuck deciding between a brass and aluminum plate for my first custom keyboard build last month. Went with brass because I wanted that heavier feel and deeper sound, but man the weight difference is real - my board now feels like a brick on the desk. The typing sound is this nice low thock but I wonder if aluminum would've been easier on my wrists for long coding sessions. Anyone else pick one and end up wishing they'd gone the other way?

@reese_bell damn right about group buys, waited six months for a polycarb plate once and it showed up scratched.

Started building my board with brass and instantly regretted it when I had to carry it to a friend's house for a LAN party. Like you said, that weight difference is no joke. I ended up swapping to aluminum after a month and honestly the typing feel is a lot more forgiving. Got this soft clack now instead of the deep thock but my fingers dont ache after writing lesson plans late into the night. Plus aluminum plates are way easier to find in stock which saved me from another month of waiting on group buys.
