I keep seeing people forget to check stabilizer wire straightness before installing
It's a small step but it makes a huge difference in rattle. I learned this after my third build had a spacebar that sounded like a maraca. How do you guys test yours before you put them in the board?

My first two builds I thought it was a waste of time, honestly. I figured the wire would just settle in. Then I had a shift key that buzzed so bad it drove me nuts. I finally laid the wire on a flat glass table and saw it was bent just a little. Rolling it on the glass and pressing down the high spots fixed it completely. Now I check every single one, it takes like ten seconds and saves so much headache later.

and that eyeballing thing works until it doesnt, trust me. eric_murphy36 nailed it with the glass table trick, thats literally the best way Ive found too. I use a piece of mirror I had laying around and you can actually see the gap under the wire if its bent, sometimes its so tiny youd never catch it by just looking at it. The worst part is when the wire looks straight but theres a slight twist in it, that will mess up your spacebar more than a visible bend will. Ive started checking both ends against each other too to make sure theyre perfectly parallel before I even grease anything. Saves so much time not having to take the whole board apart later.
