I was wrong about hotswap sockets for a year straight

I used to swear by soldering everything. Thought hotswap was just for people too lazy to learn. Then a guy named Mike at a meetup in Austin told me my joints looked fine, but he noticed I was swapping boards every two weeks. He said hotswap would let me test five different switch types in the time it took me to desolder one. Bought a hotswap board last month and I've already tried three new linears I never would have bothered with. Anyone else find that hotswap actually made you experiment more with switches?

Too lazy to learn"? That's a bit harsh don't you think? I mean yeah some people just want to plug and play but swapping boards every two weeks sounds like you're more into collecting than actually typing. I've been using the same gat yellows for three years and they still feel great. Maybe hotswap is fine for trying things out but I can't see it being that much of a game changer. Soldering isn't that hard once you do it a few times and you get way more options.
