Just learned the hard way about cheap stabilizers...

So I was putting together a budget 60% build and thought I could save a few bucks on the stabilizers... big mistake. I grabbed a set of those generic 'panda' stabs from a random online seller for like $8. They looked fine at first, but after a week of typing, the spacebar started rattling like crazy. I took the whole thing apart, tried the band-aid mod, the holee mod, even lubed them twice with 205g0. Nothing fixed it. The wire was just poorly made and had a slight bend I couldn't see at first. Ended up wasting about 4 hours total messing with them before I gave up and ordered some Durock V2s. Has anyone else had a similar experience with off-brand stabs? What's your go-to brand now that won't break the bank but actually works?

Yeah, I've definitely paid that cheap stabilizer tax before...

Oh man, that's the worst. Honestly though, the real tax is the time you waste trying to get the cheap one to work right.

@umaprice totally nailed it with that cheap stabilizer tax comment. I spent a whole weekend convincing myself I could fix my budget stabs with lube and prayers... spoiler alert: the wire was just as bent as yours.
