My plate foam experiment went sideways, now I get why people skip it
I spent all last Friday stuffing 3mm neoprene foam under my plate because I kept hearing it kills the ping. First few hours it felt great, but then I noticed the board started feeling mushy and the bottom out got weirdly soft. Took it apart Saturday morning and just left the plate bare, and honestly the sound is not bad at all once you adjust the case foam instead. Does anyone else find that plate foam changes the feel way more than the sound on gasket mount boards?
