My solder station meltdown made me switch to hotswap

I fried a $150 PCB set last night cause my iron tip decided to stick and I panicked. A builder at the local meetup told me I should just go hotswap if I'm not modding switches every week. Has anyone else made the switch and felt like they lost some customization freedom?

Dude SAME, ruined a vintage black switch board that way and NEVER looked back.

Agreed with @andrew916 here - I used to think hotswap was for lazy builders but after frying a board I'm fully converted, you don't really lose anything unless you're desoldering every week.
